The Etang St Pierre Sensitive Natural Area

busard des roseaux

Situated south of the Chabaud-Latour pond, this wetland area is important because of the types of habitat it contains: shallow water, reed beds and clumps of willow trees.

Owned by the French Waterways authority (Voies Navigables de France) and jointly managed by the Nord Region, the site is classified as a public river. Because of its value as an area of ornithological interest and in particular the presence of bird species such as the western marsh harrier and the little bittern, the site has recently been confirmed as being an important piece of natural heritage.

Due to the sensitivity of the environment and lack or suitable access, the site is not open to the public.
